Tea party floral decorations and sweet treats

Inspired by Anthropolgie and high tea style, Natalie of Events by Nat designed this gorgeous Burlap & Burgundy High Tea Party. I love how she paired elegant details like ruffle fondant flowers and classic tea china with more casual elements like burlap, buttons, and natural wood boxes. This beautiful and downright charming look would work well for everything from weddings and bridal showers to milestone birthday parties!

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:

– Savory tea sandwiches with tied playful button & rose accents
– Floral vintage dishes with gold trim

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Natalie

I chose to do a traditional high tea but tweak it to give it an anthropologie feel. The photoshoot took place at a privately owned property in Bowral in the Southern Highlands (NSW, Australia). The backdrop was the beautifully landscaped property – the ideal place for an anthropologie high tea. The high tea had an earthly feel. The colour scheme was beige, white and burgundy. The burgundy brightened up the colour scheme but gave the high tea a wintery feel. Buttons and flowers were the main inspiration behind the high tea. In the background cream and white pom poms hung from the trees along with burgundy flowers.

The high tea table included all mismatched vintage high tea servingware which were sourced from all over the world. Risers were natural wooden boxes. All combined contributed to the natural and earthly feel. Burgundy and white flowers were added to create vibrancy with the other natural colours.

The dining setting was relaxed rather than formal with hessian stools instead of chairs. All stools were various sizes and heights (mismatched) and made by Events by Nat. The table was a wooden shelf with a suitcase for the table top. All natural and earthly to complement the hessian stools.

– Egg and watercress sandwiches
– Ham & chutney sandwiches
– Cheese pasties
– Petit spinach and cheese quiches

– Scones – Rather than use traditional scones, I thought I would create something original so I came up with scone pops. I combined scones and jam and rolled them into a cake pop ball. I coated them in white chocolate and sprinkled eatable rose petals on top.
– Ombre petit cakes
– Chocolate ganache tartlets
– Cupcakes
– Cookies
– Macarons
– Bon bons
– Three tiered cake with burgundy blooms

Favors for the guests were the Hessian wrapped chocolates.
