PARTY DETAILS, as told by Kameela…

I’m thrilled to share a few details from our BBQ Bash! We are enjoying the last few days before the kids head back to school & we spend a lot of time at the pool in a desperate attempt to cool off! Along with water play comes summer treats and delicious BBQ. Luckily my DH enjoys to fire up the grill any chance he gets. By default, my boys enjoy watching the grill master in action. I did not realize how much my youngest enjoyed “grilling” until we purchased a grill play set for Christmas. I thought this would be the perfect theme for his next birthday bash and I’m thrilled to share his photos captured by my friend Anetrius Wallace Photography!

Party Details & Tablescape

We set the tone for our BBQ bash with the perfect set of printables designed by Lillian Hope Designs. If you follow me on INSTAGRAM, then you know how much I L-O-V-E chalkboard elements! Layered in were pops of yellow and red to carry out color palette of ketchup and mustard condiments.

I carried over our fun chalkboard element and topped it off with some fun accessories. Don’t you just love extra layer of fun the red marque letters add? I enclosed the letters with a set of twin centerpieces that included a birthday sign and fresh flowers.

I designed some fun grill themed cups for our place settings that were simply perfect for little hands to hold. Balloons are always a good idea and filling these with helium were a super easy thanks to the helium tank I found at Oriental Trading.

The Activities:

Scorching temperatures called for a drink station. We included two beverage choices and adorable mason jars. I love how the table top easel from Snapfish turned out. It really personalized our station!

I planned several activities to keep our grill masters in training busy. As a mom, I am sure you can appreciate the joy that an occupied toddler brings. My little guy was on Cloud 9!

I adore everything that Little Tikes makes. I was thrilled to feature some of their grill sets and accessories in our party! If your little person is anything like my guy, then pretend play happens daily. The Little Tikes Backyard Barbecue Accessory Pack comes with everything your little griller in training needs including hamburgers, hotdogs, gingham napkins, ketchup and mustard bottles! Grill sets were a must at our station and they kept our grillers occupied for most of the party!

I set up a fun doodle station for our guests that included tin pails of jumbo pieces of chalk. Activity sheets that matched our theme were the perfect time buffer as I prepped for our next activity.

You can’t have a BBQ without watermelon right? Only this time our grillers made their own watermelon masterpieces using paint, brushes, canvas easels, and potato wedges — which were the perfect shape!

The Sweets:

Our little guy is a lover of all things sweet. A mini dessert station with a few treats was a must for our little griller. Delicious cookies handcrafted by Creating Awesomeness coordinated perfectly with our printable set! I love the ombre flames that she added to the number 3’s. Fresh fruit was the perfect topper for our cupcakes. 4 Kids Cake designed a gorgeous set of watercolor accented toppers for our cupcakes. They were absolutely gorgeous.

I also filled shakers with tasty mango flavored gummies and strawberry jelly beans from Oriental Trading. YUM!

We ended our bash with a trip to the ice cream bar. The kids made vanilla sundaes topped with delicious gummies, sugar sprinkles, and marshmallows! I designed a set of ice cream cups to compliment our theme.

The Favors:

Great Stitch designed adorable sets of grill hats & aprons adorned with embroidered names. They also received mini grill kits that included custom koozies from Totally Koozies and cookie favors from the Sweet Flourish Shop! The cookies were an assortment of pineapples and watermelon drawings. The kids painted them using the watercolor palette included on the cookies. How cool is that?!

We hope this inspires you to host a Backyard BBQ Bash of your own to close out the season.
