My daughter loves Strawberry Shortcake and I figured the best setting for her party should be a strawberry patch especially since it would be May, which is the perfect month for strawbery picking. I served picnic baskets filled with snacks for the children including animal crackers, chips and applesauce. Pizza pinwheels, fresh veggies and popcorn chicken were available on the lunch table to accompany the children's picnic baskets. Boxed lunches for adults were filled with turkey and swiss sandwiches, ham and cheese sandwiches, pretzels, chips, apples and granola bars. For drinks we enjoyed strawberry juice boxes, strawberry lemonade, strawberry soda, and water. Desserts included strawberry shaped cookies, cupcakes, cake pops, rice krispies, and a make your own strawberry shortcake station. Activities included a bounce trampoline, a visit with the barnyard animals, strawberry picking, and strawberry pinatas. Classic red and white gingham fabric was used for the picnic tables and the picnic baskets were trimmed with the 80's version of the Strawberry Shortcake cartoon character.
