For my son, Gavin's, second birthday we decided to go with a baseball theme, the NY Yankees are our team! I started by designing an invitation that looked like a ticket stub, and created custom baseball cards of the Birthday boy. We held the party in our backyard and designed a bunting and sign to put in the fence leading into the party. For this party we did not design a dessert table, instead we put together a concession stand complete with hot dogs, hanburgers, nachos, chili, pretzels and popcorn! I love how we ended up displaying the pretzels - this was the brainchild of my husband and was just a foam cone, some long lollipop sticks, a little hot glue, white paper, and a yarn pom pom! I purchased some used baseballs for really cheap at a second hand sports store and we used those throughout the party. At the drink station we featured this Subway art which I will now be putting into Gavin's "big Boy room"!
One of the most fun elements of the party was this custom cut-out photo station that my business partner Sarah designed. We also had a scoreboard hanging on the fence and tee ball for the kids to play. Because Gavin has a nut allergy, this entire party was peanut and tree nut safe, right down to the homemade "cracker jacks" that we gave as party favors, along with a baseball card of the birthday boy!
We thought this party was definitely a home run!
