Ice Cream Parlor (20 photos)
For my twins 2nd birthday party we decided on an old fashioned ice cream parlor theme. Since we have girl/boy twins the color palette was neutral (red, brown, blue).
The first project to tackle was the awning, which was the perfect job for my hubby! It was actually quite simple to assemble. For the canopy I ordered several yards of white duckcloth, measured the lines to the desired width and painted on the red stripes. For the scalloped edge I simply used a large plate as a template.
The next project was the chalkboard sign.
The dessert table was fairly simply with ice cream being the main feature. Guests could choose from a variety of cones, build their own sundae or make an ice cream float.
Also on the dessert table (and all made in my own kitchen):
- Ice Cream Cone Cake Pops, Chocolate Malts, Chocolate Dipped Rice Crispy Treats, Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes & Drumstick Cake Pops (made to look slightly melted)
