Airplane Birthday Party (20 photos)
I was inspired by my son's love for airplanes (we live in the flight path of our local airport) and his favorite foods (pancakes and fruit) for this party...
When styling the party and coming up with the designs for all of the decor and party printables, I was also thinking of something that could be used again in styling his bedroom. Bold colors, silhouettes, and yellow orange and blue...
Blue streamers dotted with simple foam-board clouds created the perfect sky backdrop for the party. With some awesome party supplies from Shop Sweet Lulu like the suitcases, striped straws, snack bags, and drink containers, and some quick DIYs, like the propeller skewers, we were ready for high-flying fun.
In sticking with the brunch theme, we also served up mini quiche bites, mini banana oat muffins, and citrus-ade "Jet Fuel". The snack station was stocked with all of the airline-snack staples. You can imagine which was the favorite (*hint* they were blue).
I made the Hummingbird Cake from Bakerella…a huge hit. My good friend Krista of Rufflecakes did the biplane fondant topper and letters. It could not have been any more perfect to the theme. And in true cakepoplove fashion, Sarah made amazing pops with just an invitation to go from. These two girls are awesome…truly.
