Spring Vineyard and Waterfront Unique and Colorful Wedding (50 photos)

The boutonnieres. Not flowers for this unique couple. The couple designed buttons attached to felt circles for the groomsmen to wear. Each groomsmen wore a different bird. Buttons were purchased off an Etsy shop and the bride sewed the felt circle around them.

This wedding was a Spring wedding (May) held in a vineyard in Virginia, Ingleside Wineyards in Oak Grove, VA. The vineyard is on the Rappahannock River and so the wedding was held at on of their rental home on the river and the reception was held in the vineyard courtyard. The winery used to be a dairy farm years ago and is one of the oldest and largest wineries in Virginia. They converted it years ago and it is now a vineyard and winery on a gorgeous location and setting. There are many historic homes on the property as well so the setting is breathtaking.

The wedding was between two people (Kyle and Mandy) who had just graduated college and the wife was a school teacher so the transportation to and from the wedding and reception sites were in school buses. It was perfectly fitting.

Instead of a unity candle or pouring sand in two colors together for the ceremony, the couple opted to paint a picture. They are both very artistic and they painted a picture with two different colors while a guitarist played and sang "Pink Moon." It was one of the most unique unity displays I have ever seen, They now have the canvas hanging up in their home

The table arrangements had mason jars with a different flower in each and grouped into sets of three. There were also antique blue mason jars included in all of the arrangements. The flowers were a mix of flowers in primarily white, yellow and orange. As table runners for the tables, they used chair ties, which are not as thick but fit the length perfectly and are less expensive. The colors of the wedding were teal, yellow and orange. The bridesmaids all wore teal knee length dresses and carried mixed bouquets of flowers in white, yellow and orange. The groom and groomsmen wore shirts and pants from jcrew. Flowers, white lanterns, and mason jars filled with candles hung from the hundred year old trees in the vineyard courtyard at the reception.

The bride's mother sewed together pennants in the colors of the wedding that were used to drape on the buses for decoration as well as to decorate the ceremony site. She then made them a quilt out of those pennants as a gift to the couple.

The guest book was one of the bride and grooms favorite picture books of animals that guests signed a page for the couple. That book is now on their coffee table.

The day was beautiful and the wedding was right before sunset so that the lighting could be perfect as the sun set over the river during the ceremony. The decorations, flowers, and coordinating were done by Entertaining Creativity.

The bride also designed and made made aspects of the day including the favor boxes, boutionerres, invitations, and hanging mason jar lights. Her work can be found at:
