I started planning my cousin's baby shower as soon as she announced she was pregnant. I knew without a shadow of a doubt it was a boy so I was planning before they found out. Once I saw the cute elephants that were out there I knew this had to be the theme.
The location was my mom's house so we were able to work on decorations the weekend before to ensure everything was perfect. There wasn't a surface in the living room/dining room that wasn't touched by shower decorations.
With the guest list being relatively small we decided on a sit down lunch with the things she had been craving.. fruit and sweets! Thanks to Pinterest I was able to nail down a fantastic menu of BLT pasta salad, watermelon feta & basil salad, a summer berry salad and chicken salad crescent purses.
The cake was made by me and was a fluffy moist white cake with a fresh strawberry compote and fresh strawberry filling and of course her favorite white chocolate butter cream. The elephant cake topper I made out of fimo clay a few weeks before the party so she could take it home and enjoy it later.
All in all it was a laid back comfortable day for her and seeing her smile was all I needed to know it was a success.
