Train Party (10 photos)
Choo! Choo! Look who's two!
My sweet little Lincoln loves "choo-choos" (trains), so I wanted to give him an exciting train party for his 2nd birthday. I looked into different venues, including the zoo, that had trains but settled on a Portland original, Oaks Park. It turned out perfect. The guests have a fee-free entry and there was easy access to a train ride for the kids.
As it turned out the train ran along the open seating picnic area so it was chugging by every 20 minutes - which thrilled the boys at the party!
We created a food-safe train centerpiece using recycled milk cartons. We filled them with toddler friendly goodies: a fruit car (grapes), coal (black olives), railroad ties (pretzel sticks), and steam puffs (popcorn).
Our Cupcake Train Kit has freight car cupcake wrappers and a 3D paper engine featuring our little engineer, blonde and blue-eyed, just like the birthday boy himself!
Our kids had the most exciting time!
