A Lumberjack Dinner Party (21 photos)
For my husband's birthday I threw a Lumberjack themed dinner party. We had a chili cook-off with two kind of chili, complete with a baked potato bar, jalapeno cornbread and for dessert Maple Bacon cupcakes, S'mores on a Stick and Flapjack cookies.
The theme was all-things manly - plaids, axes, log cabins, mustaches and the wilderness.
I sewed patchwork and burlap buntings, made "beards-on-a-stick" for our impromptu photobooth, cupcake flags and a log cakestand and s'mores stand.
I was able to put together this whole party with things we already own! I borrowed Lincoln Logs from a friend's toy cabinet, and everything else I made by hand.
I bought natural colored raffia to look like wood shavings from Michael's, as well as some gingham wrapping paper from the Dollar Store for the photobooth backdrop.
I nicknamed my husband "Moose" back in college, so the theme was a fun and casual way to celebrate his birthday. Our friends were all good sports too - they all came in costime!
It was a great way to throw an expensive party for my husband and our good friends. And everyone left stuffed!
