So excited to share this Nautical "Love Boat" Inspired Bridal Shower with you today! As it usually is, this bridal shower was a surprise given by our client Kay for her soon to be sister-in-law, Joanne! Kay invited 30 of Joanne's closest friends and family to enjoy an intimate lunch as they showered the bride to be with love and gifts. The couple is having a destination wedding on a 7 days cruise throughout the Caribbean Sea this October 31st, which served as the inspiration behind this "Love Boat" idea and made it simply perfect for Joanne. Kay envisioned and allowed us to help her plan and design a tablescape that was modern, romantic, nautical yet beautiful enough for someone getting married on an island or cruise. So here is our take on the "love boat" theme, we hope you enjoy the party pictures below as much as we enjoyed working on it.

INVITATION: We began the design process with the invitations which were designed by Cara Mcgrady of One Swell Studio in conjunction with Sarah De Jesus. The color scheme consisted of Navy, White, Red and Yellow. To achieve the romantic and nautical feel we paired the navy Parquet pattern with a cute sailing boat and red hearts. Cara also worked closely with us to design all the custom paper items used throughout the party such as the menus, placecards, bingo game cards, wedding advice cards, straw flags, favor tags/labels and bride to be banners.

GUEST TABLES: The two guest rectangular tables were dressed in white linens with navy parquet runners on the middle of the tables. Both tables displayed 3 beautiful low Floral arrangements topped with very nautical-like white lanterns with lit white votives, as well as two yellow Pin cushions beautifully arranged in white tied-knot embellished glass bottles which were filled with white Sand & Sea Shells. The display also consisted of custom made wooden sailboats using the same pattern and we gave the tables a personal touch by using 7 white tied-knot detailed frames to display the wedding itinerary by Day. For each Day, we used a map of the caribbean islands and marked each island stop with a cute heart over it.
Each guest was assigned a place setting which consisted of custom placecards, navy/white paper straws detailed with a custom yellow straw flag that read "J + E" and white half-rolled napkin folds with a square shaped custom menu nicely tucked in the middle and a delicate red heart on top.

THE CAKE: The cake was designed to match the theme for which we provided our client Kay with 4 cake sketches who then chose the one that was perfect for this shower. We provided the super talented Laury Hernandez of There Should Always Be Cake with the chosen sketch design of a two-tier cake which consisted of white wrapped around rope detailed with a heart that read "J + E" on the right side for the bottom tier and blue ocean waves for the top tier which was topped with a lovely sailing boat with a yellow flag and red heart.

THE FAVORS: The party favors were kept simple to match the theme. We filled heart-shaped glass bottles with shimmery/pearlized white sixlets and adorned them with a yellow flag favor labels.

All the guests enjoyed of a wonderful lunch while playing bridal games and sharing well wishes with the bride to be. They also took home a delicious slice of red velvet cake in white to go cake boxes!
