This was my son, Owen's, 1st birthday party.  I have 3 sisters and a daughter, so my son is the first boy in our family in over 30 years.  My father is a huge train collector, so this party was to honor him and finally give him a chance to have a boy party!

The party was held in our backyard with all of our friends and family.  We had an actual train set for the kids to play with and they each got a chance to be the conductor and drive the train. I also made coloring book pages for the kids to color.

The dessert table featured vanilla cupcakes with railroad crossing signs and trains, along with a popcorn stand and chocolate covered marshmallows on paper straws. The cake was an outdoor train scene with the railroad crossing sign on the top.  Above the dessert table I had a burlap banner with train cut-outs.

For the favors, I had personalized train bags that contained bubbles for each child and also a wood train whistle. I stamped the kids names on the train whistles for an added personalization.

Decor included large jars of shimmer gumballs and cutout trains. My husband created a railroad along our driveway up to the front door using black electrical tape. Kids loved running up and down the track! I also made a chalkboard with all of my son's stats for his first year.

For food and drink we had bbq chicken and tri-tip served on gray food trays with yellow checkered liners. Mason jars sat on a vintage Coca-Cola box tied with twine and a personalized tag. Paper straws were included with tags that read "CHOO-CHOO!" and "Owen is ONE!".  I also made water bottle wraps for the bottled water on the drink table.

Kids and adults had a blast! This truly was a DIY party as I created most items for the decor using my Silhouette machine.
