It was an absolute pleasure to design and style this baby shower for a dear friend of mine who was expecting her third baby. As she loves the colour yellow, I chose to use deep, strong tones rather than the more common pastel lemon. I wanted the colour to dominate the table, giving maximum impact and a 'wow' factor to guests as they arrived. I also wanted the shower to have a distinctive vintage feel to it, so I used old childrens books, suitcases and other vintage props. I made a fabric garland and attached it to an old fence railing as the main backdrop. Perhaps one of my favourite features of the shower was the old suitcase I used as a gift box for guests to put their presents in for the pregnant Mum. I also made a simple 'gift' bunting to hang over it. A yellow lolly buffet complemented the delicious cupcakes and white chocolate feature cake. I was pleased with the overall look of the shower and all the guests loved being part of such a vibrant, colourful party!
