Owl and Bird Themed Baptism (26 photos)
Feeding over 100 heads dinner and desert? Not happy with one dessert table? Well why not create a dessert room.
Inspired by the Owl and Bird Party Prinatables created by Sarah from Style Me Gorgeous, I set about creating a luxurious dessert room for my 10 month old son's, Xavier's, Baptism.
Using the rich wooden furniture and luxuriuos curtains as a backdrop I was able to create 3 different but coordinated dessert stations.
On the main table, I used a beautiful white milk cake stand purchased at Sweet Style to display Xavier's Owl and Bird two tiered cake. The top layer was a moist orange cake, whilst the bottom layers comprised of milk and white chocolate marble and chocolate mud cake. The cake was made by Andrea at Cake-a-lishious.
Surround this cake stand were pale blue rock candy sticks, chocolate brownies, chocolate ganache tarts, chocolate ganache spoons (a huge hit) vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frostings and chocolate logs. Each had a matching Owl and Bird buffet lable.
On the side buffet I featured tim tam cake pops, sugared almonds and more vanilla cupcakes. Mini apothecary jars filled with mini chocolate chip cookies and mini milk lollies made for perfect take hme favour for the adults. Also to take home were personalised wrapped chocolate bar favours.
I created a wish tree for Xavier using wish tags and fallen branches for guests to write wishes for Xavier before they took their owl cookie favours home. These were beautifully made by Noo at Dessert Menu, Please and also highlighted on the rolltop desk buffet.
On the third dessert buffet, the rolltop desk I placed jars purchased from Sweet Style on top of the desk with coordinating green and white bon bons. Malteasers were centered in the large jar and the top of the desk.
Paperfans were created to provide a backdrop (allothough I wish I had made many more of them. A chcolate cake sat a top the desk surrounded by more jars including macarons, juicy pear jelly beans, toasted marshmellow jellow beans and merringues. Rock candy sticks in blue sat in the open draws to the back of the desk.
I had a magical time creating this party for my son and can't wait to get started on the next one!
