I'm sharing a party I recently did for my daughter's 2nd birthday. The theme is "Twinkle Little Star". This was a sweet theme since it was the first song she learned to sing. I think it's so fun to have a party theme based on a book or song. For the dessert table backdrop I covered particle board with fluffy white pillow stuffing to create a cloud/sky look. I punched (actually, my husband punched ;)) dozens of stars out of glittery gold paper to make star garland to hang in front of the white "clouds". I found gold star sprinkles, (who knew those exist?!) at Hobby Lobby and used them on top of the white ruffle cake and the star-shaped sugar cookies. Glitter gold star cupcake toppers were used on the mini muffins as well as the star-shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I love using glass apothecary jars on dessert/party tables, and my go to fillers are marshmallows and beaded garland. These are inexpensive fillers and a great addition to the table. I wanted a color to compliment the gold and white party colors and chose the turquoise beaded garland. I spray painted tin cans with glitter spray paint and dried baby's breath and sprayed those gold as well. A very inexpensive addition to a table! I purchased the gold sequin fabric remnant at Hobby Lobby. It was the perfect table covering for the party theme.
