Hostess With The Mostess

I am the pastry chef at Crema Cafe in Cambridge, MA.  To celebrate the launch of our new events catering line, we threw a party with four different themed sweet tables.  This was a fiesta themed birthday party table for a friend of the owners.

We used paper cutouts as the backdrop in addition to crepe paper flowers on the table.  The desserts were all fiesta themed and house made.  Refreshments included passed champagne and a pitcher of orange key limeade. 

It isn't a birthday party without cake, so we created this two tier tequila soaked lime cake with salted lime buttercream and candied citrus decorations.  Coconut tres leches cake was served in mini margarita glasses.  Other desserts included chocolate chili macarons, spiced nuts, and meringue topped key lime macarons. 

For party favors, we filled mini brown paper bags with a tequila nip and house made candies in lime and smoked salt.  The candies doubled as edible decoration by filling a giant sugar rimmed margarita glass with them.
