    Partyfun:

Hi! My daughter will celebrate her 4th birthday in August. We love to creTe spectacular parties and your Barbie party is amazing! I love it! She also wants a Barbie party but we are having a pool party. Could you share with me how you did the surf boards behind the dessert table? Also, did you make the hibiscus decals on the boards? Just wondering...they are the cutest things I've ever seen! Thank you for any information you could give. Sincerely, Lisa

    • Hi Lisa! Thank you! To make the surfboards we started with 4' x 8' pieces of plywood and cut them in half with a jigsaw. Then we drew the surfboard shape on the board with a pencil and cut out the surfboard shape. To paint them, we used blue painters tape to tape off the different stripes on the boards and painted them. I didn't make the hibiscus decals...I purchased them from a shop on Etsy, but I can't find the name of it. Have fun! Holly

The whole idea for the Beach Barbie party came about because Madi’s favorite movie (since she got it for Easter) is Barbie in a Mermaid’s Tale.  She watches it ALL the time!  She kept saying she wanted a Barbie party, and with her birthday right at the end of summer, I thought a Beach Barbie party only seemed appropriate.

Madi’s favorite colors are pink, purple and violet (that’s exactly what she says!) so I knew I had to incorporate these colors into her party theme.

The Barbie silhouette and hibiscus flowers were used throughout the party theme, including the dessert table, printables, and favors.

For activities at the party, the little girls colored Barbie pages, decorated flip flops with sparkling jewels, and made charm bracelets.
