Child's Name: Jaxon Flading
Child's Age: 2
Location: Yorba Linda, CA
Description:
Elmo/Sesame street inspired birthday party.
Design Inspiration:
Our son Jaxon's love for Elmo and all the sesame street characters.
Decorating Style:
Homemade. I wanted to use homemade items where ever I could (even if I bought them off www.etsy.com), to add the special touch.
Project Details:
Personalized items: The "happy Birthday Jaxon" banner, the welcome sign, cupcake toppers, thank you tags, thank you treat bags, centerpieces, and confetti were purchased on www.etsy.com from Burley Girl Designs: http://www.etsy.com/shop/wburley74?ref=pr_shop . The invitations were purchased on www.etsy.com from Elokhaiser:http://www.etsy.com/shop/elokhaiser?ref=pr_shopE I also used these as decorations at the party and applied them onto yellow fans. The treat bags were filled with Cookie monster and Elmo rice krispie treats that my sister and mom made. The Elmo cake pops, Cookie Monster cupcakes and Elmo cupcakes were made by my sisters. The adorable sesame street pom poms were made by my sister and me.
For thank you gifts, I bought coloring books, Elmo reading books, and sidewalk chalk (from the 99 cent store, I also included a stuffed Elmo or Cookie monster (on sale at Target). I also purchased small candy bags off of www.etsy.com, http://www.etsy.com/shop/Paperella2010?ref=pr_shop
with custom tags.
My sisters made shirts with iron on appliques purchased from twostars321 http://www.etsy.com/shop/twostars321?ref=pr_shop
.
We played pin the nose on Elmo with orange stickers, find Elmo in lots of uncooked rice, danced to the Elmo slide and pulled strings on and Elmo pinata.
Favorite Items:
My favorite item would be the character pom poms, they came out great and were all hand made. My favorite thing about the party was that Jaxon loved every part of it!
