Hostess With The Mostess

I worked hard on the details of my son's first birthday party. It had a sock-monkey theme. My budget was limited, so I spent money on the invitations. They are a keepsake for our friends and family. I also bought the banners from an Etsy vendor.

My best purchase for this party was a big roll of candy red yarn. I ended up making a pom-pom garland. Ric-Rac was also a good purchase for me. I used fabric glue to trim the edges of sock-monkey fabric I bought from The Fat Quarter, online fabric store. (I don't know how to sew yet.) I ordered "H" (my son's name is Holden) and "1" (his first birthday) cookie cutters andmade vegan sugar cookies. I also made his cupcakes. I love shopping for cupcake bling!

I handmade hats and those were a surprise hit!

All-in-all, on a limited budget, it came together cutely and my little baby was a glow!
