I love this idea and tiny details you did with this garden party....I too would love to know how you made the back drop and little note cards stating the food being served. In addition would love the recipe of the goat cheese struesel that you said was easy and great to make ahead of time! that raspberry mousse looks divine!!!!

The home wasn't large enough to accommodate tables for the guests, so I didn't have to worry about that element. ;-) I just made sure that all the foods were finger-foods and easy to grab and eat while standing.

Just a roll of craft paper (like for an easel) that I bought at my local craft store! Very inexpensive.

When I was asked to create a baby shower with the theme "The Secret Garden," I immediately thought of the Frances Hodgson Burnett Book by that name, one of my childhood favorites.  I wanted to use florals, of course, but evoke more of a misty, monochromatic, mysterious mood rather than use the bright colors typically associated with gardens.  I wanted to play with texture more than color.

The show-stopper of the event was definitely the paper flower backdrop, inspired by the 2009 Chanel runway shows.  It only cost about $15 to make, and now it's a gorgeous art piece on my bedroom wall.  I love getting double duty out of party decor!
