Thanksgiving Tablescape Design 2011 (30 photos)
I wanted to create a Thanksgiving design that brings together two of my favorite concepts: Country and Glam. Traditionally, I am used to seeing warmer colors for Thanksgiving tables. I really wanted to use a different color pallet and was very inspired by this years trend of silver pumpkins so I went with silver, shades browns and cream. As a crafter at heart, I just love adding DIY touches that one could easily recreate for their own Thanksgiving table.
I started with a crushed cream taffeta tablecloth and created a bed of brown fabric for my super glamorous silver turkey. Silver pine cones, pumpkins, twine and strands of bling surrounded this beautiful turkey to really pull together the concept. Acorns and floating lights dangled from the chandelier to give the table some twinkle. The hydrangea flower arrangements are so simple but elegant at the same time. Mason jars, purchased from the grocery store, were wrapped in twine and bling ribbon.
Each table setting had a glittery silver charger with a white plate, pearl trimmed linen napkin and pearl napkin ring. My favorite touch: each wine glass had a little tag with an acorn silhouette, tied with grey baker's twine.
Finally I created two additional little tables, a sweets table and a drink station. I just love the bling backdrop on the sweets table. Cupcakes, pumpkin pie and other yummies that mix a little bit of country with a little bit of sparkle. The drink table featured mason jars with a silver swirly straw complete with a brown acorn tag. And what is dessert without a little coffee? Wooden drink stirrer, mini acorn and a little donut equals one adorable cup of coffee.
