Make your holiday celebration merry, mod, and bright with contemporary patterns and easy, crafty ideas for dressing up everything from candles and reindeer to place settings and party favors!

Creative Reindeer
Spray-paint inexpensive paper mache reindeer (available at most craft & holiday decor stores) to match your theme, and embellish them with festive holiday trims and decorative paper. No time to spray paint? Just embellish the reindeer in their natural kraft paper or metallic gold state! {Download the paper patterns pictured above right here.}

Table Centerpiece
Pair your "all decked out" reindeer with a cluster of ornaments, pinecones, and candles. For added punches of color, spray paint some of the pinecones red and white. For the finishing touch, add paper "Merry" and "Bright" banners to each reindeer. Print the banners out here, cut them out by hand, leaving a small white border around each, and glue them to a wooden dowel (available at craft stores).

Mood Lighting
Add some festive mood lighting with votive candles! We used the frosted red and green Apple Cinnamon and Spruce It Up! votives from Glade here, and dressed them up with festive paper patterns and yarn to coordinate them with the reindeer and place settings.

Festive Place Settings
Dress up your place settings with decorative paper. Wrap a wide band around your charger plates, then use different, but coordinating papers as "napkin rings". Top each paper napkin ring with a decorative pinecone or wicker ball/potpourri element.

Garnished Glassware?
Make wine glasses extra-festive by covering the entire stem with colored yarn and securing with a knot or glue dot. Pull 3 artificial berries from a wired berry pick and twist the wires or hot glue the berries together to form a traditional 3-part holly berry shape. Secure the berry cluster to the base of the wine glass with a glue dot  or hot glue. Dress up water glasses with a band of holiday ribbon, like the "snowy" white pom trim utilized here.

Let it Snow
?Turn your ordinary light fixture or dining room chandelier into festive holiday decor by decorating it with “snowy” garlands made from white silk rose petals strung onto fishing line.  Tie several garlands to the light fixture or secure them with scotch tape, then suspend glittery snowflake ornaments (also hung from fishing line) amidst these snowy strands to complete the winter wonderland look.

Sitting Pretty?
Don’t forget about the option to decorate the chairs around your table! It’s often those little, unexpected details that end up making the biggest impression.  To decorate these chairs, we paired a small cluster of artificial berries with short lengths of the the same “snowy” silk rose petal strands used in the "snowy chandelier" hanging above the table.

Holiday Ambiance - Setting the Mood
Use scented jar candles to add some festive mood lighting AND fill the air with festive holiday scents. We used the frosted red Apple Cinnamon jar candles and frosted green Spruce It Up! jar candles from Glade here, and dressed them up with yarn, ribbon, and custom-designed, hand-cut paper banners featuring holiday phrases like "JOY" and design elements like reindeer silhouettes. Download these banners for free right here.

Ornaments on a Shelf
Turn cube wall shelving or shadow boxes into cool accent decor by decorating them with patterned paper and printable banners and adorning them with Christmas ornaments and painted pinecones. The red and white shelves pictured here are from Room Essentials by Target ($15/set of 3 nested shelves), and we used Pop Up Glue Dots help secure some of the ornaments in place.

Berry Festive Manzanita
To create this oh-so-merry Berries & Manzanita arrangement, spray paint some manzanita branches red and display them from a shiny red vase (or any favorite vase you'd like to use). Fill some of the gaps with artificial holly berries (available at most craft and floral supply stores), then cover the opening of the vase with moss. Decorate the branches with ball ornaments and painted pinecones. For the finishing touch, dress up the vase with decorative paper and yarn!

Jolly Jars
Fill glass bell jars and apothecary jars with a little artificial snow and ball ornaments and pinecones. Decorate the outside of the jars with festive printable paper banners, yarn, or ribbon.

Creative Reindeer
Spray-paint inexpensive paper mache reindeer (available at most craft & holiday decor stores) to match your theme, and embellish them with festive holiday trims and decorative paper. No time to paint? Like the paper patterns we used to decorate the reindeer pictured here? Download them for free right here!

Bring the Party Home {Party Favors}
Send your guests home with some of the exact same festive holiday ambiance from the party! Use decorative paper patterns and coordinating gift tags to turn the same scented jar candles used within the party decor into cute take-home gifts so that party-goers can easily enjoy at home! Pictured here: Apple Cinnamon and Spruce It Up! scents from Glade, in both scented jar candles and premium room sprays.
