A Tea Party for London (50 photos)
Born on Christmas Eve, I promised my daughter that I would not neglect her birthday because of the holidays. Last year, the theme was Christmas for a mini-Diva. For her 2nd birthday, we decided to base the theme off her name, London ... A Tea Party for London.
As guests came in we put on their fancy hats made from fabric and custom lollipop flowers along with white gloves. They were more than eager to sit down at the table with tea cups filled with lemonade and a candy covered '2' teapot centerpiece. Light pink and yellow streamers created a festive ambiance for the party.
Being the foodie that she is, we included my daughter's favorites. Mini grilled cheese sandwiches, spinach quiches, and meatballs were on the menu. The dessert table was adorned with lemon tea cup cakes by Cakes in Style, custom sugar cookies by Firefly Confections, and jewelry toppers by Edible Details on top of graham crackers and pear pies. To add a bit of whimsy we made a sixlet shooter from the teapot to the teacup of the cake.
Once everyone sipped on their beverages and feasted like ladies, it was story time. Book of Etiquette, A complete guide of how to act like London at Two Years Old was read. Spanning a whopping 6 pages long, I made this book as a memento so we can look back at what London was doing at the time.
Everyone left with the proper etiquette and goodies of tea cup cakes and tea bag treats filled with cheerios and smarties. The party was a hit ... we're starting to work on the next one! :-)
