Pool Party Printables (14 photos)
This Pool Party theme was designed to celebrate everything summer: pools, sunglasses, flop flops, water guns, beach balls, and bright colors. The girls just had a great time being girls. While this party was just a summer party the theme would be great for a birthday party, graduation, or BBQ.
Decorations: The decorations for this party were very simple, we allowed the pool and outdoors to be the main focus. We used Diliberto Photo & Design's Pool Party printables (found at dilibertodesign.etsy.com) and built the party around them. We purchased beach balls in various sizes and colors and had them all around the pool. We used fun plates that looked like pieces of fruit for the cup cake display (cupcakes were made by Stacy's For The Love of Cake, http://www.facebook.com/StacysFortheLoveofCake). We filled a basket with colorful towels for guests and had jars of candy, water guns, glass bottle drinks, and bubbles which helped to decorate the space and tie in the theme. It's amazing what a little ribbon can do as far as decorations go! We used white and blue polka dot, yellow rick-rack, and green ribbon to help bring the color scheme to other aspects of the decor.
Party Favors: The party favors were the most fun part of all! We purchased inexpensive water guns from Wal-mart and tied Thank You Circle party printables with green ribbon on them. We also purchased colorful tubes of bubbles, added the small circle party circles to the top, and challenged the girls to a bubble blowing contest.
Food: The food consisted of every little girl's favorite, SUGAR! We had vanilla and chocolate cupcakes from Stacy's For the Love of Cake that were topped with fondant beach balls, flip flops and towels that mimicked the graphics on the party printables. The cupcakes were also topped with small circle party printables that we cut out with a scrap booking 2" circle cutter, attached to candy sticks and tied with yellow rick-rack ribbon. We also had a candy bar which was fun jars of various candies, tied with ribbon and labeled with the Pool Party themed food labels.
We also had bottles of strawberry Crush which we made festive with printable bottle labels in the pool party theme. If you're going to ice your drinks it's important that when you print bottle labels you take the to a retail printer such as FedEx Kinkos and have them printed with a laser printer as laser printed ink is not water soluble. Most home printers are inkjet, which will run when wet.
