We designed a vintage-airplane themed baby shower for a client. The colors were all-American- red, white and blue with lots of gingham... with some vintage, DIY touches. The focal point of the room was the dessert table which included lots of themed treats such as red chewy swirl "propellers" and individually bagged "airline peanuts tied off with yarn. We also used an old globe found on eBay propped up on a vintage suitcase to act as the centerpoint of the table. The globe tied in the "fly the world" feel. We also used a vintage Coke crate and some cool cakestands to give the table some balance. For the backboard, we create white cotton puff "clouds" and glued them to a blue posterboard. The banner was found on Etsy.

The guest tables were also super-themed. We made the gingham runners with basic, inexpensive fabric. The placemats were made from felt squares found for 10 cents at the craft store. We painted the paper airplanes and glued them to each placemat. The centerpieces were simple, vintage blue mason jars filled with white roses (from Costco). We painted some wooden airplanes (also found at the craft store) and glued them to dowels just as an accent to the flowers. It all came together perfectly! Lots of DIY :)
