Hostess With The Mostess

We recently designed and styled a “Pink in the Springtime” themed baby shower. Our client came to us wanting butterflies and pink, pink, pink! So we decided to give the event a springtime vibe (since it’s snowy and cold right now in Cleveland and we’re all dreaming of Spring)! We added lots of fabulous details to pull this together… from hanging pink yarn balls (inspired by HWTM), cotton candy cones, pink butterfly labels and more. Here are some additional details about the shower:
 

Dessert Table: We wanted the dessert table to be a vision of pink! We created a pink and white curtain backdrop and added a pink fringe scarf on the table top. We hung a clothesline (complete with pink clothes and even pink hand-clotehspins!) to add a springtime feel. We used a vintage style pram/carriage from JC Penny and filled it with fresh flowers. We brought in some dessertware and plated some fabulous desserts that the Ritz Carlton prepared for us. We used acrylic boxes from the craft store and filled them with faux roses to create 3-dimensional cake pedestal effect.
 

The Guest Tables: We wanted to incorporate ruffles and eyelit fabric (perfect for baby and warm weather!). We wrapped basic cylinder vases in pale pink ruffle lace and white eyelit trim. We used white hydrangeas and sprayed them with a hint of pink floral spray to keep the look very soft. We added white branches and strung pastel butterflies and pink yarn balls (HWTM) from each arrangement. We added white chocolate dipped waffle cones filled with pink cotton candy at each place setting, topped with a pink butterfly label. We used votives filled with pink candy and wrapped in pink yarn as a vessel for each cone.
 

Other décor: We made a “mama to be” garland for our guest of honor’s chairback. We also brought in a pink vintage-style pedal car to serve as a vessel for cards and small gifts.
