After looking through DimplePrints party packages we decided on the Elephant theme for our son Jack's first birthday. It was a lot of work putting the party package together but we loved how it came out and really put a personal touch on his special day.
For games we made a pin the nose on the elephant game and had the Hasbro Elefun game out. We also had a bounce house for the kids to enjoy.
DIY Cookie Favor Tutorial
The cookie favors we made were a big hit and so easy to make. I purchased an elephant cookie cutter and made cut out sugar cookies from a bag of Betty Crocker mix. Then, I purchased Duff premade fondant from Michael's and dyed it blue with special cake food coloring from a cake supply store. After it was mixed to be all the same color I rolled it out with a fondant roller from Michael's and cut out elephants with the same cookie cutter used to make the cookies. We then put the fondant on the cookies and made a eye mark with the bottom of a lollipop stick. They were packaged in cellophane bags patterned paper from the party package was folded and stapled on top to close them. The party package favor tags were printed on sticker paper and placed on each bag. They said "Thank you for celebrating my 1st birthday with me! Love, Jack."
