St. Patrick's Party (23 photos)
We celebrated St. Patrick's Day with a little party this year. There were lots of games, activites, and treats for all the kids. Let's start off with my favorite... the treats!
I wanted to do something that was funa nd festive, but colorful and not all green. We started off decorating the dessert table with a large rainbow backdrop, gave it lots of color. Then we has some artificial grass on the table to give is some texture complete the look. The centerpiece was a large pot of chocolate gold coins. Then we had plates of little leprechaun cookies, rainbow jello cups, wax lips, and green cupcakes topped with silly shamrocks. I loved the way the table turned out!
For our main activity all the kids built a leprechaun trap to take home. There are tons of ideas online and my son picked out the one he liked best. For the party I premade all the bases and the kids assembled the tissue rainbows, grass, trails, and hung the basket cages. The way the trap worked was there is a clear string tied to the cage and then held up with a fake pot of gold. When the little leprechaun lifts the pot of gold, the cage drops. This was a huge hit with all the kids! They were all so excited to make them and kept talking about how they were going to catch one.
We played a few more games, one was called "Don't Eat Lucky", and a photo prop station for fun pics.... my favorite was the leprechaun diguise kit! Then we had a little treasure hunt to find their party favors, little pots of chocolate gold coins to take home. It was so much fun. Thanks so much for checking it out and hope it inspires you too.
