Hostess With The Mostess

I wanted my son's first birthday party to be unique, and since he's a January baby I wanted something wintery. I chose a snowflake theme but kept the glitter to a minimum so it didn't appear too holidayish. The colors were midnight blue, ice blue, silver and white. The invitations, place cards, birthday banner and thank-you notes were all handmade by putting a ton of various letter stickers together...ended up looking a bit like a ransome note but oh well. Each note was unique and no two were alike.

The decor mostly consisted of paper poms hung throughout the house like big snowballs, and felt balls hung in garlands like falling snowflakes.

The activities were a vintage photo booth with mustache props and a retro Kodak instant polaroid camera, and snowflake magnet kits that I purchased from Oriental Trading.

Dessert table highlights included homemade cupcakes, powdered doughnut hole "snowballs" and white chocolate covered pretzels. Party favors were custom snowflake sugar cookies for each guest. A wonderful day with friends and family there to celebrate!
