The party was inspired by my love for toile and but wanted baby items in the design as well so I chose baby blocks, teddy bears. Since Naomi's birthday is in early spring, I wanted to give a tea party with a fresh garden feel. I used butterfly accents throughout the party. I chose the colors of pink, periwinkle and lavender. The feature table was draped in various patterns of toile, ticking stripes and silk fabrics with an over sized canvas backdrop and matching candlesticks. The backdrop I designed was hand painted with a toile background and featured the baby's monogram and age. The party printables featured a toile pattern that was perfect. They are from the Ma Petite collection designed by Bnute Productions. The table centerpiece were unfinished wood alphabet block boxes I found at my local craft store (Hobby Lobby). I painted them in pink and lavender and aged them to give them an antique feel. For the top block, I made an arrangement of blue hydreangeas, with floating pink and lavender butterfiles. To carry out the theme, party guest enjoyed butterfly shaped tea sandwiches, shrimp salad with butterfly shaped crackers, strawberries and cream, mini quiche and of course, tea. The birthday cake was a three tier baby block cake with the baby's initals, butterflies and featured a keepsake teddy bear cake topper holding the word's "Baby's First Birthday". Guest took home chocolate covered brownie pops, chocolate covered oreo's, chocolate butterfly and number one lollipops in pink and lavender.
