For my daughter's first birthday I wanted to pick a them that represented her. She is danity and petite and people are always telling me that she is 'cute as a button'. So of course this was all I could think about when it came time to pick a theme for the party. I started working on this button themed party about 4 months before her actual first birthday and I'm glad I did because a lot of details when into creating the look.

I love the trend of grouping together a bunch of eclectic things for a wall grouping so I definitely wanted to do something similar for my daughter's first birthday.  I absolutely LOVE the wild sorbet brand of frames. I exclusively used them for any and all of my framing needs for my home and parties.

I wanted it vintage but modern and funky/fun too. I used aqua, lime green, hot pink and light pink as the color theme.  I am a graphic designer by trade (and I used to run a photography studio) so I did all the design work myself, making the invitations, printables, wall art, etc. I also sew, so I did the banners, tablecloths and anything else that required a stitch.

The hottest thing at the party was the photobooth. I highly recommend it for any birthday party or really any event. The adults had more fun doing this than the kids!!

I decided to do a dessert table because the time of the party was from 2-4 (between lunch and dinner). I did banana pudding on pastry pedestals, cake and ice cream, marshmellows dipped in chocolate with sprinkles, button cookies, and button lollipops.

I did a seperate table for drinks. We had glass bottle cokes, fruit punch and cherry limeade. I had stripe straws with paper buttons on the end of them. I own a silhouette machine which made it super easy to cut out buttons to decorate the party.

I love how the party turned out and definitely think it was worth all the time I put into it. I hope everyone else enjoys looking thru the pics!!
