Vintage China Bridal Shower Dessert Table (18 photos)
This garden themed shower was hosted by the groom's mother at her lovely Toronto home. She wanted the bride's love of all things vintage to be incorporated into the event. Because the wedding colors are purple and green, Sweet Design Company created a dessert table using a similar color palatte with vintage elements.
Heirloom silver tea service pieces from the groom's grandmother, were repurposed as vases. Fragrant lilac blossoms were arranged in the creamer, sugar bowl and tea pot.
Vintage china tea cups and saucers with floral designs in purple and green, from Vintage Dish Rental (www.vintagedishrental.com), were stacked on platters and used as cupcake holders. Pretty tags identifying the desserts were attached to the tea cup handles with slender lavender ribbon. Thick satin ribbon was woven through white cake pedestals to add a splash of color.
The bride adores desserts so a wide variety of her favorite sweets were served to appeal to her as well as her guests. There were lots of cake flavours to choose from with chocolate cake pops, vanilla raspberry petit fours and 3 types of cupcakes; lemon curd, red velvet and carrot. Empire cookies and lavender shortbread were a big hit as was the fresh seasonal taste of key lime tarts. Another crowd favorite were the French Macarons in pistachio, blueberry, espresso and salted carmel.
Guests at the shower were provided with an array of feathers, flowers and sequins to create their own vintage facinator - everyone had a wonderful time and left with a unique headpiece.
