Night Owl Baby Shower (19 photos)
I was asked to help put together a Sprinkle for an old friend. It was all very last minute but it all turned out fabulous at the end. The guest of honor's sister suggested the theme Night Owl and left the rest to me. I immediately thought twinkling lights, stars moons and earthy neutral tones. Since we didn't know the gender I decided on a more neutral color scheme of lavender, cream and dusty blue.
I collected as many owls as I could from my and my parent's home and used a few decor pieces I already had from previous events. I used christmas lights to hang over the table for the twinkle effect by tucking the bulk in a paper star punch lantern and bringing two pieces down behind the table. I created the "moon and stars" effect by clustering some paper pom poms, accordion balls and painted stars above the table as well. My very talented mother sewed the gorgeous ruffle tablecloth which really complimented the style and theme very well.
I created all the printables for this event, including a Name That Celebrity Baby Game & Purse Raid. I also set up a "Diaper Thoughts" station where guest were encouraged to write cute notes on diapers for the mother to read during changing time. The guest loved this.
I thought origami stars in mason jars would be appropriate for this party and so I turned to YouTube for a quick tutorial. I then came up with a cute idea to leave a few strips of paper open for guest to share their thoughts and loving words for the mom-to-be, at the end of the event I folded each paper into an origami star and filled a jar for mommy to place in the baby's room.
