My Daughter's name means "One whose light will never be hidden." As a summer baby, I figured there was no better way to incorporate summer and light than to throw a Sunshine themed birthday.
Being the musical family that we are, I decided to use the song "My Girl" as the inspiration for the party.
I LOVE so many details of this party!!
The entry (not pictured) had a wreath of yellow flowers with a glittery "Z" above a table with sunglasses for all the guests to take. As guests arrived, they grabbed glasses and headed to the pool.
Inside, I set up a food bar with healthy and fresh food: salad, chicken, steak, sweet potato and beef skewers with chimichurri sauce, fruit kabobs and mango salsa.
The baby bar was one of my favorite elements complete with Gerber Puffs, applesauce, milk, Cheerios, goldfish, and pb&j.
A friend suggested I have baristas at the party, which I did, with some adorable aprons from Michaels. They added such a lively element to the party, serving lemonade and preparing snow cones for the guests.
The Jell-O shots with Godiva shavings were to die for. The polka dotted parasols were just icing on the cake.
The decorations included suspended tissue poms, a tulle and flower backdrop, wheat grass centerpieces, sunshine cupcake toppers, monochromatic flatware, and a handmade sunshine banner.
I'm a HUGE fan of photo displays at parties. It really focused the decor on the child. Here, I chose to suspend the photos from the ceiling over the food table with the number of the month the photo was taken on the back.
