For Caroline Elizabeth Blake’s 1st birthday party, we wanted to have an ice cream theme! Especially in the middle of the heat of Texas’ summer! Guests were offered ice cream-looking cupcakes, a DIY ice cream bar with a slew of toppings and other yummy treats. Adorable, wooden ice cream spoons were used. Pink lemonade and “Sweet Caroline” tea was served in old mason jars with striped paper straws. The tablescape and coordinating party décor featured burlap with mint green and pink fabric. An assortment of coordinating grosgrain ribbons were used in abundance on Caroline’s high chair, food serving platters and ice cream cone balloons. A birthday banner displaying a picture of Caroline for each her first 12 months was hung on thick burlap ribbon. The most unique feature of the party was Caroline’s smash cake which looked like a melted ice cream cone!
