For this elegant Baptism & Full Moon celebration I styled a soft pink & white dessert buffet, and made cupcake boxes for the guests to take home with them, along with personalised chococlate bars as thank you gifts.
I also hung pink lanterns to tie in with the Full Moon celebration Chinese people celebrate on the birth of a baby.
According to Chinese custom, when a baby turns 1 moth old, a ceremony is held to celebtrate their first month of life (the Chinese term translates as "full moon"). This coincides with the end of the new Mums confinement period, and both mother and baby are formally introduced to the extended family and friends for the first time.
As the lovely couple had a girl they handed out Ang ku to the guests as part of the dessert. If you have a son, plain round Ang ku kuehs (red glutinous peanut cakes) are given out, and if you have a girl, you mould the Ang ku into traditional tortoise moulds, which are more intricate and delicate.
This was a lovely intimate family celebration to style.
