Sesame Street 1st Birthday (18 photos)
My son's favorite tv show is Sesame Street, so we went with that theme for his 1st Birthday Party. The party was held in our backyard and 30 little ones attended, so having everything outdoors worked out perfect :-). We set up childrens and adult tables and chairs under tents for eating lunch. The lunch menu was one that both kids and their parents could enjoy..
For entertainment we had an Elmo and Cookie Monster costume characters come to do a little show for the kids and take photos with them, which was a big hit! We also had a 15x15 primary colors moonbounce for the kids ages 3 and up, and our own Little Tykes moonbounce for the babies and toddlers, which the kids had fun in for hours. Other activities we had were bubbles, child's sprinkler, pinata, letter of the day game (come up with a word that starts with the letter C and win a prize), and count's counting challenge game (guess how many prizes are in the jar and the person with the closest guess wins the jar).
The most special part of the party was seeing my son's face light up when everyone sang Happy Birthday to him! He had a Sesame Street cake from the Kake Korner in Laurel, Maryland, and I made Elmo, Big Bird, Chocolate, and Vanilla cupcakes; everyone really enjoyed all the desserts and ice cream. As a thank you for all the kids coming, they each got to take home a golfish, small fish bowl and a packet of fish food; the kids were so excited to have their own little pet fish, just like Elmo :-)
