Hostess With The Mostess

We hosted a southern picnic inspired "Pinwheels and Peace Signs" baby shower. Our backyard baby shower had to be moved entirely indoors due to rain, but we made last minute adjustments without a hitch! We had traditional southern food including fried chicken, pulled pork, crab cakes, and kabobs. Sides included mac and cheese, slaw, mashed potatoes, salad, baked beans, and blackberry cobbler. Our color scheme stemmed from the red and white checked picnic table cloth with accent colors of aqua blue, yellow, and royal blue. We used pinwheels of all colors and sizes, most of which we made with cardstock and white brads. We spray painted wooden peace signs and made candle votives from mason jars with ribbon tied around the rim.
