Barn, Burlap and Books (30 photos)
I love celebrating life events with others. I love when others celebrate a life event in my life. Casie did such a great job doing just that in honoring me and the new little one that will be welcomed into our family the end of August.
She chose to go with a beautiful, big, red barn owned by a dear friend for the perfect location. The wooden beams and floor added to the feel of the rustic chic look that Casie was going for. So many details were added. For the dessert table she painted an old door and glazed it which gave it one of my favorite looks on furniture. A cupcake bar was the main dessert with frostings of cream cheese, chocolate, coconut and peanut butter. Many toppings were included to add flavor to the cupcakes in rustic little wooden dishes. The cupcake flavors were carrot, vanilla and chocolate that sat on trays on top of old lamps. Such clever stands that went great with all the decor. Burlap was used as a table skirt and for the food labels along with binder twine. Hanging above the dessert table was an old ladder with mason jars filled with sand and a candle. The rustic style chandelier made for a lovely addition of lighting at the focul point of the celebration
The tables for the guests to sit at were covered in burlap table cloths. The centerpieces were overlapped old book pages glued together with vases of nuts and roses that were made out of book pages. Also, a votive candle covered in burlap sat a glow on the table adding to the ambiance of the evening.
They used old furniture, beautiful lamps, flowers, and many other touches for me t o take home to the remember the evening.
