Preppy Pink Whale Party (20 photos)
Since my niece was a summer baby we decided to go all out with a super fun, preppy whale theme using the colors navy and pink, getting inspired from the company Vineyard Vines. The party was small with just family and close friends and the birthday girl truly had a blast!
We set up a small dessert table with the cutest whale and beach ball cake pops from KC Pop Art & Parties. They even made and supplied the cake pop holder, which was a white wooden box with painted hot pink stripes. They then cut out pieces of heavy cardstock in shades of blue to create waves. The cake pops were the centerpiece of our table AND absolutely delish!! Any extras we had we displayed in mason jars and used them as accent pieces for our table.
Since there were a few small kids there, we made mini fruit skewers with blueberries and strawberries (sticking with the pink and navy color scheme). We also served simple vanilla cupcakes to the guests with printables designed by Party On! Designs.
As a backdrop to our dessert table, we took pieces of hot and light pink crepe paper that we cut into strips all the same length and pinned them to a ribbon we then strung to the top of a white beadboard. We then hung the birthday banner across it. It was so cute and added an additional pop of color. To finish off the table we added hot pink flowers we cut from our garden and displayed them in white blume boxes wrapped in navy jute ribbon.
The birthday girl had her very own smash cake that we purchased from a local grocery store and had them place a ribbon border around the bottom. Simple and sweet! We topped it with a mini flag pennant and had Party On! Designs create a matching birthday hat we printed out. I made a matching bib for the birthday girl to wear during her cake smash. She LOVED her cake!
Each of the party guests left with a sand bucket we filled with bubbles, goldfish snacks and a custom made sippy cup from I Have A Favor.
The birthday girls shirt was made by me, her auntie of Sweet Threads Clothing Co and Birdie Baby Boutique made to match the most adorable headband. Danbury Lane created a navy and hot pink tutu to complete her outfit. She looked adorable on her preppy pink 1st birthday!
