My daughter Taylor was turning 7 and because of her obsession with penguins she requested a penguin party. Her party is in July so I had to come up with a creative way to house penguins in a hot environment! Taylor has a pretty good collection of plush penguins so I knew I wanted to use them throughout the party. We gave them a good wash in the washing machine and plopped them on a snowy, beach backdrop with plenty of bright colors. We added sheer colorful curtains for the back drop of the table and used risers to create heights and covered them in snowy material. The folding food tags and colorful mini striped bags and mini baking cups helped add more color to the table. My favorite part of the table was the adorable cake pops on an oval tray lined with wavy blue paper to resemble a pool and the super cute penguin cookies. The mini striped bags held "snowballs" aka powdered donut holes. The green polka dot baking cups held "fish bait' which was a goldfish trail mix.
Taylor's favorite drink is lemonade and her favorite penguin is a pink penguin named Penguino. She named the lemonade Penguino's Fresh Lemonade. We made labels and attached to glass bottles and added pink stripped straws. The water bottles were taped with penguin duct tape (awesome find!) and I added blue fish ice cubes.
My mom made the enormous penguin cake that was way bigger than we expected but tasted so good!
The kids played on a huge blowup water slide and pool.
Each guest was asked to do a thumb print penguin and sign their name for a guest "book" poster.
The favor was a small bag that contained a penguin pillow box filled with gummy fish, tattoos and a lip gloss for the girls and a squirt gun for the boys.
