Hostess With The Mostess

When I was trying to decide on a theme for my daughter's 2nd birthday, I thought of what reallymakes her happy.  Every night we sing You are My Sunshine before bed and.

I bounced around between modern/chevron and vintage/lace.  I decided on a little vingate when I found my moms stash of very old Ball Mason jars.

The front door was painted in the sunshine theme.  We gave all the little girls a sun wand and all the families went home with a You are My Sunshine diy box filled with silly straws, a yellow lolli adn a bracelet.  I used ball jars filled with daisies or lemons around the house  For decor I HUNG a doily garlnad throughout the kitchen and made a doily Happy Birthday banner.  I used my silhouette cameo to make the sun cutouts.  Besides the mason jars my favorite part was my parents old dining room chandelier that we painted then used as a cupcake display.  Chalk boards listed the food items.  

I had homemade cake pops, mini push pops with banana pudding and a nilla wafer.  We seved lemonade and sweet tea in mason jars glasses.  The kids had a choice of capri suns or mini waters.  The children were ages 18m-4 yrs so we planned two non stress activities.  Pin the Ray on the Sun and set up a min photo booth area.  The Sunshine cutout was a huge hit with the kids.  We also sang You are My sunshine before Happy Birthday and cake time.
