Ice Cream Shoppe Party

It’s summer, it’s hot, and I wanted to hang out with my friends.  So I decided to host an Ice Cream Shoppe party.  Many of the ice cream events I’ve seen online have not necessarily been true ice cream parties.  They’ve had cupcakes in cones or a large cake with an ice cream cone “melting” over, both of which are super cute ideas, but that’s not what I wanted.  I just wanted ice cream.  Because I love ice cream, and I love it in every way you can eat it–from a cone, as a sundae or banana split, with two cookies as a sandwich, in a float, as a milkshake.  Just ask my husband.  :-)

So I decided to have a party, and I decided to do it as inexpensively as possible to show you that having a beautiful party doesn’t have to break the bank. Initially I wanted to do everything for about $30.  And from what I could tell, I was right on budget. But then tonight as I was adding up everything, I realized that I’d forgot to calculate the favors into the mix.  Oops!  Plus, I decided I didn’t want to make a bunch of different cookies, so I splurged and bought a container of cookies from Costco, knowing it would send me over budget.  Without those two items, however, I would have spent a little less than $27 to have this party (with them, my budget ended up being just under $45).

This was a fun, simple and inexpensive event, complete with cones, sundaes, sandwiches, and floats--pretty much anything ice cream you could want!
