This Vintage Luau was a perfect way to say goodbye to summer. I thought it would be nice to have a softer color pallette than the usual bright luau colors - pinks, turquoise and gold in different patterns helped to pull off my look.

I found fun honeycomb hula girl straws and party pics that I also used to decorate my wine glasses and cake pops. Some of the other decoration used were vintage metal serving trays, brass candle sticks, dried pineapples and lots of palm leaves.

I made all of the decorations myself including the signs, lights and food tablescape! I bought inexpensive silk flowers and took them apart, cut a small slit at the center and placed them around a string of white twinkle lights as well as the overhead globe lights! A great festive touch.

The food table backdrop was made by tying together bamboo sticks and stringing a set of big leaf drapery sheers I own across the top. The cardboard letters were coverd with scrapbook paper and hung from the bamboo using twine. I loved using a mix of water washed prints and textures to complete the look of my table.

Signature drink was a Lava Colada! I used premixed Pina Colada mix {including the alcohol} for the base of my drink. Then pureed a large container of strawberries that I poured from a pitcher to top off my drink. It is important to serve the pina colada in a clear glass and see the strawberry puree run down the sides – watch the Lava Flow!

I repurposed a pretty turquoise picture frame for my drink sign. The sign type I printed from my computer and mounted it to a piece of soft floral print scrapbook paper…added a little starfish to the frame.
