Hostess With The Mostess

For Brandon's tenth birthday party he wanted what many ten year old's want ... a night to play video games with all his buddies. Being a child of the 80's myself, I'm much more familiar with Nintendo video games than modern one's... so this was a blast to create!

The invitation has your basic "screenshot" look and feel from the Classic Nintendo game. Mario has just bumped the mystery box to reveal a level up mushroom... hence the announcement that Brandon has reached Level 10 - i.e. is turning ten!

The boys loved choosing a Mario or Luigi "character" by picking a hat and water bottle. The birthday boy, Brandon got to be Super Mario, so his water bottle had white overalls. And the Mario or Luigi mustache straws made for lots of fun role-playing and cute snapshots!

Katie did a fabulous job making adorable pirhana plant cake pops! We wrapped the printable green pipe ice-cream cup wraps around paper ice cream cups to create the look of the pirhana plant coming out of the pipe like it does in the game. It was also a fun way to serve the cake pop with the ice cream!

We set up multiple tv's and video game consoles so kids there was not a lot of waiting between turns.
