Hostess With The Mostess

We chose monsters as the theme for our son's 1st birthday...he loves them (even growls when he sees a monster toy or photo!). I made most of the decor for his party, although the main characters were inspired by the invitations and food cards I ordered from "shelleyspa?perstudio" on www.etsy.com. From there, I made 4 ft tall foam board monster decor, door/wall hangers, the cake, his birthday shirt, etc. We had children from under 1 all the way to 10 in attendance, so I had different craft activities they all enjoyed! From coloring sheets and "Mold a Monster" bags with homemade playdough, to an "Adopt a Monster" area where they selected a stuffed monster and filled out adoption certificates, all of the kids had a blast!! I made the fondant monsters for his cake, but the cake itself was from Blue Cake Company in Little Rock, AR. It took lots of time planning (and lots of patience), but the party was a huge success!!
