I recently styled this Rustic Thanksgiving Dinner for the Fall Issue of Bird's Party Magazine and it got me so excited for all that encompasses fall - the gorgeous colors, mums, the smell of pumpkin spice, football and all of the delicious food that comes with Thanksgiving. My goal was to bring nature straight to the table, so we headed out to St. Joseph's Farm (the most charming location) to shoot this. The rustic barn and garage provided the perfect backdrop to this scene and really gave it its rustic feel. For colors, I stuck with the traditional fall color palette in the browns, golds, burnt oranges and golds. The brown linens up against the green of the evergreen hanging above and the crops in the background turned out beautifully. I then strung a garland of leaves straight down the center of the table for a runner. They added the perfect pop of color to the table. My favorite, however, were the gold Pottery Barn dishes topped with a gourd for more seasonal charm. I wrapped each guest's napkin several times with twine, as well as each wine bottle on the table. Each guests's chair was tied with a burlap sash, that was also included on the table as a vertical runner. The lighting came from several mason jars hung from the tree above the table with burnt orange candles lit for elegance (and they smelled delicious!) For the dessert table, I set up a "pie exchange" for guests to bring various types of pies. Included were cherry pie, apple pie and pumpkin pie push-up pops!
