My son has had a model airplane from when he was born which was a gift from my Dad. I knew that his first birthday had to be something related to that..when I went about planning his birthday, I knew the exact place to have it. 56 Fighter Group Resturant, which is located in the Farmingdale, NY Airport. The room overlooked the runway. The kids ran to the window when ever a plane took off or landed. Perfect!
I got alot of my ideas from this site, along with my own imagination. I created the Luggages (party favors) with brown paper bags, and printed suitcase stickers from Microsoft word templates. The Happy Birthday sign was created by using 5x7 cardstock. I stenciled each letter with acrylic paint and tied them together with red ribbon. As for the dessert table, I stuck to the red white and blue theme..went to The Dollar Tree and bought all the gumballs and picked out only the red and blue balls. I also got the cotton candy from there, and picked out the blue. Since the birthday was in February, I was able to get the "snowball" cotton candy, so there was my white cotton candy. The cake and cookies were created by www.lily-cakes.com. She is based here in Long Island, NY.
As for my sons shirt, I ordered it off of good Ol' www.etsy.com from http://www.etsy.com/people/sweet3leafprints
I also got his invitations from there. http://www.etsy.com/people/nounces
The clouds behind the dessert bar was purchased at Michaels. When I found that, I jumped so high!!!
