Story:  Mint and Blush.  Those were one of the first words Ashley mentioned to me when we started planning this amazingly gorgeous baby shower.  In preparations of the arrival of a beautiful baby girl, her room is carefully designed in the colors of mint and blush with touches of creams and ivories.

Mint and Blush.  As those colors came into my mind, I envisioned a beautiful garden setting, with pink peonies, white garden roses, lace and some sweet birds singing in joy of the arrival of a new baby girl!

When carefully selecting a venue, as much as we wanted an outdoor fete, we chose an indoor event, mainly because Houston weather is so unpredictable and we didn't want the day ruined.  We found the perfect venue...a gorgeous room set in a beautiful garden.  A room that allowed you to enjoy a few gorgeous oak trees through some French pane windows.  When you looked up, the ceiling was ornate with some beautiful artwork of vines and butterflies, tastefully drawn, but without taking away from the garden view.

Overall Theme:  Vintage Garden, think birdcages, garden flowers, mason jars, lace and canaries.  The menu: baby greens, a trio of miniature gourmet sandwhiches, creamy risotto and broccolini.  A Mimosa Bar was set up for guests, as well as a coffee and tea station.  For dessert, we created a beautiful "Garden of Sweets" with a show stopper cake!

Stationery:  When I think of a Vintage Garden theme, I envision a garden filled with flowers, lots of birds, some whimsically vintage bird cages, simple jars accented with lace or twine.  How to bring all this together onto an invitation, but still give it a very classic timeless look?  Freehand drawn birdcages suspended from a tree, birds frollicing around their cages, pretty little flowers all around!  All this came together and was carried throughout all the paper decor, from invitations to custom candy bar labels and the honey jar labels.

The Decor:  Our inspiration...vintage bird cages, lace, garden flowers and chalkboards.  The oak trees outside were accented with some cream colored picture frames, adorned with some miniature crystal chandeliers, lazily hanging off tree branches.

A Royal Table, perfect for the 26 exclusive guests was covered in a mint satin table linen and accented with a lace overlay.  Atop, guests were WOW'd with gorgeous birdcages accented with a mixture of Baby's Breath wreaths, soft pink Peonies, white Majolika Roses and some other soft floral accents.  Ivory damask napkins, tied with some burlap made a beautiful statement at each place setting.  So that guests would know where to sit, some beautiful handmade place cards were drawn to mimic the beautiful invitations of birdcages, vintage hearts and flowers.

Dessert Station:  To bring the outdoor garden inside, a beautiful wall of boxwood was created, with signage and all!  The showstopping cake, a beautiful birdcage in mint and ivory, with soft pink floral accents and a sweet yellow canary.  Vanilla and strawberry marshmallows, Pistachio and Raspberry French Macarons, miniature Pumpkin and Pecan pies, miniature Creme Brulee all accented the table beautifully...all labeled with miniature chalkboard signs.
