Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (42 photos)
London loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so for his first birthday bash mom, Lynsey, asked me to stick with that theme (but nothing cheesey!)! Knowing she loves bright colors, I chose an aqua, red, and yellow color scheme. The casual party centered around visiting with family and friends poolside in the birthday boy's backyard, so I hung bright paper lanterns and balloons under the outdoor pergola to add color to the party space. I found a vintage highchair which I painted bright red for the birthday boy to sit in!
I embellished a balloon wreath with a stuffed Mickey and a personalized banner to greet guests at the front door, along with a Clubhouse wooden sign by the driveway. A family friend painted the custom Mickey canvases to be placed throughout the party. I amped inexpensive mini tote bags up by cutting out a felt silhouette of Mickey and gluing it to each bag with buttons to replicate his pants. The party hats were made with standard red party hats, to which I added construction paper Mickey ears and buttons to the front.
Along with a Hot Diggity Dog Bar, I styled a simple sweets table for the kids. Kid friendly snacks such as Mickey shaped Oreos, cupcakes, cake batter popcorn, gumballs, and animal crackers were served. Due to the heat, we moved the cake inside with the favor table so it wouldn't melt! I made the dessert table overlay from solid aqua fabric and glued fabric letters on the front to spell out the birthday boys name and then added red ribbon and pom poms along the bottom to give it some pizzaz. The backdrop was a piece of polka dotted fabric with a felt Mickey silhouette and a paper pennant banner.
Of course, Lynsey, the owner of local boutique, Chandeliers, had the whole family decked out in coordinating Mickey outfits. So cute!
